About Steve

Steven has in the past four years returned to painting after a break of fifty years, when he was at school. Originally from London, Steven, his wife Terrie and his two children have lived in Berowra NSW for 33 years.

Professionally Steven has been a Teacher, Stockbroker and Journalist. Starting painting again during Covid, he has concentrated on acrylic impressions of local sunsets, international bridges and worldwide landscapes. He paints on both stretched canvas and paper.

Steven has been fortunate enough have had Seven individual exhibitions between 2022/2025. The first one at The Depot, Dangar Island and then followed by one at The Cottage Brooklyn. Both of these displays ran for five weeks. Steven has also had two display features at the Prince of Wales Hospital Randwick the one in 2025 running for six weeks. Steven had the first of three one day ‘Pop-up’ exhibition locally at Illoura Community Space Berowra. Steven has had Artwork as Finalists in several Art Competitions including Hunters Hill 2023 & 2024; Mona Vale 2023 and 2024 and North Sydney Lifeline 2025

He paints as both Steve Quilty -Art & Steve Quilty -CartoonImpressionist. His art mainly involves acrylic on paper of stretched canvas. Most would agree that Steven's art is bold, colourful and vibrant.

Recently Steven has travelled through Europe for three months using the places visited for inspiration producing many new works on paper. Steven loves to paint local sunsets, Sydney Harbour scenes and International rivers, bridges and buildings.
